I say that to say that the SSD had nothing to do with this issue. I then used the same PhotoSweeper app to send them to the trash. I purchased it and sure enough the duplicate photos/videos were found-well over 100gb worth. I researched online and found that somehow the new Photos app had duplicated all my pictures and videos.
